The Design Buffet is Indonesia’s first 24-hour design sprint competition, created by Studio Yord as a platform to push the boundaries of creativity and collaboration. With a vision to bring designers together in a high-energy, time-sensitive challenge, the competition needed an engaging online presence to match its ambitious concept.
Our role in this project was to transform the static Figma design provided by Studio Yord into a fully interactive Webflow website. Beyond just translating visuals into a live site, we worked closely with the team to ensure that every interaction felt dynamic and immersive. From animations that enhanced user engagement to setting up the domain for a smooth launch, our goal was to ensure that The Design Buffet website was more than just an informational platform—it needed to capture the excitement and urgency of a real design sprint.
The primary objective was to build a fully functional, interactive Webflow website that stayed true to Studio Yord’s original design vision while enhancing user engagement. Since the event was all about speed, collaboration, and high-stakes creativity, the website had to reflect that energy.
The challenge was not just in development but also in bringing interactivity to life—we had to determine the best way to implement animations, transitions, and interactive elements that elevated the experience rather than overwhelming it. Additionally, we ensured a seamless domain setup and deployment, making sure the site was not only visually compelling but also fully operational in time for the competition’s launch.
One of the biggest takeaways from this project was the importance of motion and interaction in creating an immersive event experience. While a static design can communicate the event’s concept, the true essence of a 24-hour design sprint comes to life through movement, urgency, and fluid transitions. By carefully integrating animations into Webflow, we created a site that didn’t just inform users about The Design Buffet—it made them feel the rush of the competition.
Additionally, working on this project highlighted the crucial role of collaboration between design and development. Since Studio Yord had already crafted a strong visual direction, our job was to honor that vision while making technical decisions that improved usability and responsiveness. This process reinforced the idea that development is not just about execution—it’s about enhancing the experience through thoughtful interaction design.
By transforming a static concept into an interactive digital platform, The Design Buffet now has a website that captures the excitement, energy, and innovation of the competition itself. The result is an online experience that doesn’t just describe the event but immerses users in it, ensuring that The Design Buffet leaves a lasting impact on Indonesia’s design community.
